What the Mirror Wants to Tell You

What do you see when you look in the mirror? If you’re anything like me, I like to give myself a good old bashing.

Why is it that our mind doesn’t listen to what the mirror is truly saying to us? What we’re hearing is not our true selves because really, we are just our soul reincarnated in another lifetime in another “costume”.

When we look in the mirror from the highest perspective, it doesn’t matter one little smidge how we look physically as long as we’re healthy. The mind, however, has preconceived ideas of what is pretty, fat, thin, big, tall, short etc.

Who decides how we should look? Only that of our soul or higher self as they know the real truth of who we are. Not our mind and certainly not the ego.

What I’m trying to say is that when we’re a child, we don’t give a hoot about what we look like; it’s only as we get older with conditioning comes the insecurities and comparisons.

The mirror is only saying what your true self already knows: that you’re beautiful and loved. There is no other answer.

Next time you look in the mirror, try and speak to yourself how you would talk to your child. You would say she was beautiful and loved – a negative thought or emotion wouldn’t even enter your mind.

I’m writing this on International Women’s day and thought it was very fitting, be kind to yourselves sisters.
