Journaling has been such a crucial part of my healing. It’s crazy how such a small thing can have such a significant impact on your journey.
I’ve been journaling on and off since 2016, I always have a book and a pen at the side of my bed, and I take it downstairs with me to journal anything that comes to me during a meditation.
I journal when I get called to, usually, it’s when my emotions are all over the place, and I need to get them out of my head and onto paper. I love writing a gratitude list before I go to bed. Things throughout the day that I enjoyed doing or people that I enjoyed spending time with. It’s amazing what our mind remembers (or forgets) when we go over the day in our head.
It’s so special remembering the small things, the way the sun was on the water or hearing the children playing in the park. Unless I write a gratitude list before bed, I tend to forget the precious little things.
I love going back to a journal, I am always amazed at how far I’ve come. The number of times I’ve gone back to a journal and seen something that I’ve asked for, which I now have. Such a lovely feeling and you get to appreciate it. The universe always listens.
I would recommend getting a lovely book that you’re drawn to and a nice pen that you like to write with as it makes it that bit more special and just start writing whatever comes to your head. You’ll be amazed, once you start, you won’t be able to stop.
