Happy vegetarian birthday to me! I have not eaten meat for a whole year today. 

My diet was actually one of the last things I changed on my journey. I always thought it would be too hard. My monkey mind kept coming up with a million different reasons to keep me eating that burger.  

I’m not a great cook, however, @deliciouslyella app was an absolute game-changer for me. You can choose from 100’s of recipes (all vegan) on the app. It’s a one-stop shop and is SO easy to use. I can’t recommend it enough.  

I honestly thought being a veggie would last a week or two max, however, seeing the benefits so quickly I didn’t even think about it. The longer I don’t eat meat, the less I miss it. I don’t like putting restrictions on myself so who knows one day I might really fancy a steak, but right now I’m happy and healthy without it.  

If this is something you’ve been thinking of doing, however, you don’t think you can, why not start with a no-meat day once a week and see how you get on.  

I thought it would be good to list the benefits that I’ve noticed since not eating meat: 

  • Consistent bowel movements
  • My hair has grown extremely quickly
  • My nails are strong and healthy
  • NO bloating (this used to be a huge issue)
  • My skin now has a healthy glow

Diet is a huge part of healing your body, never forget that.
